The coronavirus is spreading rapidly and we are doing everything we can to protect the children in our care. But we do not have enough masks, cleaning supplies or basic medical needs like thermometers and plastic gloves.

Some of the children in care are among the most vulnerable to this deadly disease due to compromised immune systems or ongoing health conditions.

If they contract the coronavirus, they may not survive.

It's this time of the year where I always want to bring together Children at the center and those in the community who have been affected by Rape/Sexual Abuse, Domestic Voilence and HIV/AIDS. Also homeless Single Mothers and poor widows celebrate with us. This year I have budgeted and planned for 217 clients. These are extremely poor people living in total poverty, Women/Girls and Children who look unto us. This togetherness gives them hope, makes them feel loved and heals some intetnal dispeakable pains and wounds. We have planned to spead $15 on each of them. This will cover purchasing of some used Clothes, Shoes, a group Christmas dinner and some soft drinks.

Save Baby Mike

Baby Mike touched many hearts. From the day he was abandoned at our door steps at the RHF Center he has become part of us and we love him. Baby Mike, is suffering from diabetes, high pressure, Pneumonia and he lives with HIV. With medical treatment Baby Mike can live to become a man to serve and build this community. Our friend Richard sent us some money last night but when we reached the hospital we were denied hospital admission because we didn't have enough money since we don't have insurance and they were worried that we can't afford the $5.825 medical bill. I now need your collective help to save the life of this cute baby. On my bended knees am being for your help.

I have an offer to open up a gallery shop, a shop tp help sell my paintings to thousands of tourists who visit and tour the other source of River Nile in Jinja Eastern Uganda. Now for me to take up this unique spot shop at this strategic place, I need start up capital for rent, stock and upfront expenses. I need $3,877 for everything but I can assure everyone that this business can bring in $870 net profit every month and that will take care of almost 65% of our monthly budget at RHF Center. Getting every child to school

Raised in poverty, children sacrifice their futures for lack of school fees, textbooks, uniforms, backpacks, and pencils. Your gift will help train teachers and get a child the tools to fulfill their God-given potential.

It should be noted that most of the children we have at the center have special needs and so they go to special needs schools. We have 38 school going age children in primary and high school.

There are 3 academic terms in a year, each academic term running for 3months from and then 3 short holidays of 1 months after every academic term.

On average we have to pay $127 per student each term.

Poultry Project

The project provides us with eggs. The number of chickens and roosters is quickly increasing. I think we are on the right path towards self sustainability. Thanks to the strong and loving men and women who donated the $200 to get this project on its feet.

You now have access to your full donation history for tax purposes and you can also print out your receipts for more transparent accountability.

Bedding items needed

One of our centres provides shelter and support/care to women/girls and children who have been sexually abused and need a break away from a violent and abusive homes.

The clients always stay for between 1week to 1month. However, we need beddings.

32 Beds, Blankets, Pairs of Bed sheets, Blankets, Mattresses, Pillows, Mosquito Nets and Bed Covers. A set of those items cost $148 (All inclusive). That means that we need $4,736 to solve the bedding problem.

No amount is too small to donate, every coin counts. Each dollar will be accounted for with all the purchase receipts, photos, testimonies and stories from the beneficiaries.

Water is Just the Beginning

Rape Hurts Foundation is a small growing Charity Organization based in Jinja Eastern. It was started by Hellen L. W. Tanyinga in 2008. RHF works for and with Women/Girls and Children who have been sexually abused.

It provides a wide range of services. In one of those activities RHF operates a Care Center, which shelters and provides for the victims who have been sexually abused but want to take a break from their abusive homes.

Sometimes we have residents who can stay upto 1month. But the center is full of activities and on average around 200 are at the center. Though we gave a few number of residents. RHF is run by only volunteers.

There is a big need for a productive water borehole to provide enough water the center and the surrounding villages. The borehole will serve a population of over 3.000 villagers and the center, so they have access to safe clean water. RHF needs $2.450 to make this possible. Please help with whatever you can.

Being a woman that was born in the United States, I truly had no idea what women in other countries go through. Through a friend of mine named Hellen, I learned the horrifying truth.

Being born a girl in Uganda can be a terrifying experience throughout their lives. Rape of young girls is rampant. They have to be careful and diligent at all times. Simple things like walking to school, going to the market or fetching water can turn into a horrible situation of being attacked and raped. The victims are many times ashamed and do not tell. If they do tell they are forced to believe they brought it upon themselves and their attackers walk away, only to do it again to another unsuspecting young woman.

Many times these rapes end up in pregnancy which is another issue as the hospital system is ill equipped to deal with any complications that may occur during the pregnancy. Once the baby is born, then there is no money to care for the child and give them the life they deserve.

Young women in Africa should have access to birth control methods to stop this from happening, They need the protection of the police to be able to report these crimes without fear of retaliation. Their voices need to be heard!

In addition, all girls and women should have access to sanitary products. Menstruation is a normal part of any woman’s life. Without the proper supplies, they are unable to live normal lives. My question is why does a normal human function cause a woman to have to lead a life where they are unable to do normal things, such as attend school? Each month, millions of girls miss many days of schools because they lack the basic supplies needed to help with the normal process of menstruation their body is going through. What is needed to open the eyes of people and realize that these very women are the future of Africa and need to be treated that way.
